Hawaii has increased the liability insurance minimum for Commercial and Personal Auto.
Hawaii enacted Senate Bill 2342, which, among other things, increases the liability insurance minimum requirements from 20/40/10 to 40/80/20 for Commercial and Personal Auto Insurance.
The bill also increases the minimum fine for driving without insurance two or more times and clarifies the required coverage for shared cars that are made available through a peer-to-peer car sharing programs. Insurers are expected to make rate filings by July 1, 2025, with the minimum limits applicable for new and renewal policies Jan. 1, 2026.
